iPhone 15 Action Button Now Requires Long Press in Pocket With iOS 17.1

As we know, in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple eliminated the Mute Switch that is usually on the side of their phones. Now, the switch is replaced with an Action Button whose function can be changed by the user, such as turning off the cellphone, turning on the flashlight, or opening the application shortcut selected by the user. The user can set the usefulness of this button through the Settings menu on the phone.

In addition, users can also use the button, even when the screen is off. However, it is pretty risky for users. Things like accidentally pressing it in a pocket might happen.

Therefore, Apple provides a feature that can change the button's function under certain circumstances. The quality, likely on iOS 17.1, can detect when the cellphone is inserted into the user's pocket. To perform this action, it is expected that Apple uses a proximity sensor to see it.

The feature is only available to iOS 17.1 beta users on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to Apple, it is expected that the iOS 17.1 stable will be released to the public at the end of October, but there needs to be more information regarding the exact release date.

So, please be patient first for those waiting for the latest update!
